Central New York's Premier Youth Soccer Club

Resources

General Information:

Each club has a common goal, player development. We believe in the early stages of development it is important to build individual and team skills, athleticism, self confidence, and appropriate attitudes about winning and losing.

Players will learn how to prepare themselves as an athlete (hydration, proper stretching, proper rest, and conditioning) for training sessions, & league games. Players learn, over time, the importance of the development of speed stamina, agility, physical strength and endurance.

We apply the appropriate level of weekly, monthly and annual exposure to the sport at the appropriate ages. We will develop players to eventually compete at a high level and in most circumstances play the players up in age to keep the appropriate level of competitive pressure on them throughout their early developmental years.

We want players to look forward to attending training sessions, games & camps. This is typically fostered by time away from the game. We want players to have the time to:

1) spend time with the ball alone, in their environment.
2) work on their own creativity.
3) organize neighborhood games.

Lastly, we believe that ball possession is the back-bone of soccer. The argument for possession soccer and ball control tactics – “knocking it around” – is summarized in Pele’s phrase: “when you control the ball, you control the score”. When you give the ball away, either indiscriminately clearing it away, or by high-energy recklessness, you concede control of the ball as well as the game to the other team.
